Rental Terms
Every vehicle rental is governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or when collecting your vehicle. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance information, applicable charges, and your obligations related to the rental. In cases where there is a discrepancy between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the latter will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a Vehicle with Fleetwood: Requirements
- To hire a vehicle from Fleetwood, you must be a minimum of 21 years old, although age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle type. Drivers under 25 may incur additional fees. A valid driving licence, appropriate for the vehicle category, is required, along with valid identification and proof of address. Ensure you have valid payment information and a security deposit ready, and comply with any other conditions outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations for Fleetwood's car hire services can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Dartford office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment along with a security deposit is usually required at the time of vehicle pickup. All rates are quoted in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, with secure processing through trusted payment systems.
4. Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is essential to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be completed and must be signed by both parties. The vehicle should be returned in the same condition as it was collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charges will be applied as necessary. The vehicle should also be returned with the same fuel level as when it was picked up; if it is returned with less fuel, refueling charges will apply. Late returns may result in additional fees, so please inform us as soon as possible if you expect to return the vehicle late. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms
- All rentals come with basic third-party insurance included. Comprehensive coverage details and excess amounts can be found in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available, which could lower your financial liability. Review these options thoroughly. You will be accountable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess amount unless you opt for extra insurance. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, irrespective of insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the booking type and the notice period provided. For detailed information, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Please be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Usage Restrictions on Rental Vehicle
- Use of the vehicle for any unlawful activities is prohibited. This includes racing, off-roading, or engaging in any dangerous maneuvers. Transporting hazardous materials is also not allowed. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is prohibited. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Additionally, the vehicle should not be used for purposes it was not intended for, nor should passenger or weight limits be exceeded. Operating the vehicle outside of agreed geographical boundaries requires prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Fleetwood Car Hire will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business associated with your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will be capped at the rental amount paid in the preceding 12 months. This limitation does not affect our liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in this region.
10. Updates to Terms
Fleetwood reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Updates take effect immediately upon publication on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
